Portrait Tips:
Session Time:
Arrive a few minutes early. Do not let last minute delays stress the event. I will interact with the children to make them feel more comfortable. Depending on the family size and children, each session could last from 30-90 minutes. During the session, we will shoot different poses, settings, backdrops, etc. If you have a certain look in mind, please let me know. Schedule a time that works best for the whole family. Many children photograph better when they have been well rested and fed.
Location:
We have a studio setup with the necessary lighting, backdrops and props to capture some excellent portraits. Outdoor options are also available, such as your own backyard, lake scene, or your favorite park. Most outdoor pictures are best if taken in the morning or late afternoon. Early morning light and late afternoon light is warmer and less harsh. High noon light can wash out color and lose detail in shadows.
Clothes:
Finding the right look for your photo shoot can be difficult. Do not stress about what to wear. Decide if you want a formal or casual look. Darker shirts and khakis can be more of a serious, formal look and white collared shirt and jeans can be more for a casual, fun look. Try to avoid bright and big patterns. Solid colors look best with a group of people. Pick colors that coordinate well together.
Props:
Our studio has props available and can be used if necessary. Generally, I do not have a tendency to use many props and tend to keep it simple and more focused on the subject. You may personalize your own portrait by bringing in your own props, costumes, special toys or keepsake to add a special interest to your portraits. After the Session: A few days after your session, I will call you to let you know that your portraits have been posted and are ready to be viewed. I will give you a password to view your gallery.
Remember keep it fun and relaxed. Take as many pictures as you want and be ready to Smile!!!
